The Outer Alliance Pride Day

As a member of the Outer Alliance, I advocate for queer speculative fiction and those who create, publish and support it, whatever their sexual orientation and gender identity. I make sure this is reflected in my actions and my work.
I hope I do, anyhow.
The idea is to provide a snippet of fiction, an inspiring biography, an anecdote, a personal story that relates to the theme of the Pride Day. I could, but I don’t have anything to say that someone else hasn’t already said better. Anyhow, what I write and read are the best and only things I can offer.
But I am ever ready with good laugh, since I find nothing bares the ridiculousness of society like a good solid flogging. This here clip is NSFW and/or those little pitchers with big ears, as it’s Lewis Black and he’s a fan of the f-bomb. It’s from his 2004 Red, White, and Screwed special, which I love. Hit about 2:10 for the pertinent points (and really good stuff), but the whole thing is fun too.

Enjoyed the post, Katey. The Gay Bandito story was pretty funny. You know, I’ve never heard of Lewis Black before. His dead-pan sort of delivery is great and he really got his point across with tremendous wit (and sarcasm towards certain deserving people).
Lewis black is da man. I saw him in Kansas City years ago. We had some severe weather that night, and he riffed for fifteen minutes about not being able to read the little f’ing map on the TV screen. Awesome.

Alan, my brother adores Lewis Black, and kind of delivers jokes in a similar deadpan-but-ANGREE way that cracks me up. Glad it entertained! (He’s a DC hometown boy. Yay!)
