Sensational!

14 Jun

This weekend has seen me buried up to my neck in various pleasant things. (I have this feeling someone’s going to expect I mean pudding. Why is it always pudding? Gross.) For one, I was seized by an urge to edit ye olde vampire book. This goes so quickly I’m sure I’m doing a bad job of it. For another, it’s World Cup time. As the Euro types complain of the streets being full of drunks and faux-patriotism, I sit here in the relatively placid United States and enjoy England allowing us to survive our first match with some semblance of dignity. (I kid, I really do think the US has a great team and played very well– everyone pretty much expected a blowout. Just… that was hilarious.)

And last, but most important, I’m now content enough with the art to reveal my not-so-secret project to those of you who, er, haven’t already known about it for months. For your entertainment and submission needs, please consider visiting–

The Red Penny Papers

Granted, the site is not finished, and there is no fiction there as yet. But never fear, I’m working on it with my devious little Magdala’s tastes in mind. (Check out the “about” page for the full effect, because she’s perfectly gorgeous!) We’ll have something special for you this fall, thanks to several talented and most excellent authors.

And it’s of course my hope that this theme is of interest to all you talented and most excellent types. I won’t nag you about that until the time’s nearer, but the submission info is there if anyone feels –*cough*– inspired. In the meantime, you can follow The Red Penny Papers on Twitter, or snag its RSS feed for updates.

And in closing: Yay!

That artwork is kick ass, and it really pulls the site together.

I’m waiting for cries of ‘We we’re robbed’, when England is kicked out of the World Cup. It happens every time.

Cate, in that US game, they robbed themselves, poor guys. Glad you like the art though– I’m in love!
